Home-based therapy is provided in the natural setting, which is often the families own home. Home based therapy can include tele-therapy as well, if that is your preference. Community-based therapy may be provided at a restaurant to work on eating with utensils, a grocery store to work on shopping and money management or other locations identified by the family or therapist to promote independence. Essential Therapeutics is passionate about providing holistic therapy with an emphasis on treating the underlying foundational issues to maximize therapy outcomes.

School-based therapy utilizes an educational model that focuses on educational needs and is governed by IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). Essential Therapeutics is passionate about providing holistic collaborative school based therapy to children, with an emphasis on family communication and teacher education for carry over throughout the week.

Tele-therapy is a way for individuals to receive occupational therapy services from remote locations using online communication. We utilize a user-friendly, HIPAA-secure program. Students who receive tele-therapy in schools will be supported by an employee of the school (e.g. paraprofessional, teacher) while an individual receiving tele-therapy at home will likely be supported by a parent or caregiver.
